User Experience Desgin

SpotsHub was a same-day shipping logistics company. With its strong logistics ability, SpotsHub started an e-commerce business in Vancouver. When I joined their product team, their website needed to be redesigned to combine their logistics system and e-commerce system into one.

What I Did

My task was to redesign the UI to improve the customers’ online shopping experience. Since the user flow of the shopping purchase was already established and most of the e-commerce features were already developed, I worked on the UI to improve usability.

Fill less, Pay easier.

In 2015, as most websites were using Flat Design, I used Google’s newly released Material Design guidelines and mobile-first design approach. I also found data from Google analytics that our mobile users were increasing monthly.

When I was conducting research, I looked at both Chinese and North American e-commerce websites and found that their user habits differed. For example, most Chinese users can expect same day shipping or next day delivery, whereas North American users are more accustomed to waiting longer.
